Chemical Carrier & Biological Carrier

Our Clinoptilolite Zeolite granules are an ideal chemical carrier for insecticides, fungicides, pesticides and industrial chemicals.

The open crystal structure of the Zeolite combined with high moisture holding capacity and high cation exchange capacity, allows the Zeolite to be used as an active chemical carrier.
The absorptive characteristics of the Zeolite can change sticky liquid materials into dry free flow-able active granules which are safer and easier to handle.

Through the unique processing system the Zeolite can be manufactured to achieve specific characteristics.  The characteristics can include

·         Particle size distribution for a specific application

·         Sterile granules for biological additives

·         'activation' through a high degree of moisture removal

Examples of Blue Pacific Minerals zeolite being used as an active carrier include:

 ·         Bioshield: – zeolite used as a substrate impregnated with a bacteria. The bacteria is specific in the controlling of soil based grass grub. The bacteria moves from within the zeolite once it is in contact with the soil and targets grass grub. The zeolite can be used for other bacteria as a host granule. It is a matter of identifying the bacteria that will target specific pests.

 ·         Dcn: – zeolite is used as a carrier for DCD (dicyandiamide). DCD is a nitrification inhibitor that helps reduce nitrate leaching. Nitrate leaching is an environmental concern in New Zealand.  The DCD active loaded into the zeolite granules is desorbed quickly once it is in contact with the soil.
